Bruins Sign Defenseman David Warsofsky to a One-Year Deal

Boston Bruins defenseman David Warsofsky has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the team worth $600,000 at the NHL level, the team announced on Thursday.

In 56 regular season games for Providence last year, Warsofsky scored six goals with 26 assists and had a plus-8 rating. In 12 playoff games, he had two goals and seven assists. The Boston University product scored his first NHL goal last December against Ottawa during a stint with the parent club.

In 190 regular season games at the AHL level, Warsofsky has 15 goals and 66 assists. Boston acquired him when they dealt Vladimir Sobotka to St. Louis in 2010. The five-foot-nine 170-pound native of Marshfield was drafted in the fourth round (95th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
