Lane MacDermid has left TD Garden with his bag and sticks. MacDermid will either travel to Anaheim to join his new club today or to Dallas.

The Bruins traded MacDermid, prospect Cody Payne, and a conditional 2013 second-round pick to Dallas for Jaromir Jagr.

“It’s kind of cool,” MacDermid said of being dealt for Jagr. “I grew up watching Jaromir play. He’s an amazing player. To be part of that deal is pretty cool.”

MacDermid appeared in only three games for the Bruins this season. The Bruins kept MacDermid on the varsity roster because they feared losing him on waivers upon assignment to Providence.

The fourth-line left wing has been slowed by a sore groin. It was one reason why MacDermid didn’t participate in today’s morning skate.
