In 2011, it was the too-small jacket. In 2012, it was the 20-link chain. Now get ready for the Rooster.

For the past couple of years, the Bruins player of the game was awarded with a jacket or chain – given by the other Bruins players – to wear in the locker room for postgame interviews.

This year, the Bruins player of the game will be sporting a bright red rooster tee-shirt, as modeled by Nathan Horton after Saturday's win over the Capitals.

According to WEEI, Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference chose the rooster tee shirt because "a rooster in the kitchen brings good luck."

The rooster shirt in question comes from The Mountain, a New Hampshire-based company that has been selling playful tee shirts for the past 40 years. The rooster shirt comes from their Big Face Animal shirts.

The Big Face Animal shirts have also been popular in the NBA, with the exclusive "Red Mamba" shirt made for Matt Bonner and worn by his teammates during the three-point shootout at the 2013 All-Star Game.

Bruins fans can pick up a Rooster tee for $20 at The Mountain's website.
