NHL.com has come out with its first set of Super 16 power rankings for this season, and the Bruins are ranked No. 1.

The Penguins are No. 2 and the Rangers ranked No. 3 to give the Eastern Conference a podium sweep. The Blues check in at No. 4, followed by the defending Stanley Cup champion Kings.

The commentary about the Bruins, by NHL.com staff writer Dave Lozo:

There's a lot to like about the 2011 champions heading into this season. Tyler Seguin, 20, has the potential to blossom into a point-per-game player after jumping from 22 points as a rookie to 67 points last season. Nathan Horton, a lock for 20 goals (pro-rated) when healthy, is back from a concussion. Tuukka Rask has Vezina potential playing behind one of the game's best blue lines.

On a side note, Zdeno Chara was the highest-rated Bruins player on TSN's Top 50 NHL players list. Chara was 12th, Tyler Seguin was 31st, and Patrice Bergeron was 35th.

The Penguins' Sidney Crosby was No. 1 for the third straight season.
