Bruins open at home against Rangers

The Bruins will open the 48-game season on Jan. 19 at TD Garden against the New York Rangers. Their second game will be a home matinee against Winnipeg on Jan. 21. Their first road game will be on Jan. 23 against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

The Bruins’ first divisional game will be on the road against Buffalo on Jan. 31. On Feb. 6 at the Garden, the Bruins will play their first game of the season against archrival Montreal.

Their first rematch against the Capitals, the winners of last year’s first-round playoff series, will be on March 5 at the Garden. The Bruins will conclude the regular season against Washington at the Verizon Center on April 27.

The Bruins will have six sets of back-to-back games. They will not play any Western Conference teams. They will play each Eastern Conference club at least three times. They will play a season-high five games against Buffalo and Ottawa.

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Garden box office and at www.bostonbruins.com.
