NEW YORK – Good morning from a refurbished Madison Square Garden, where the Bruins will square off against the Rangers this afternoon. MSG is fitting right in with the Botoxed faces on the Upper West Side. Very nice touchup work to the old barn.

Tuukka Rask is out today. Rask was injured in the second period of Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Islanders. Rask appeared to be favoring his left knee. He required crutches to leave TD Garden after the game. No word on the severity of Rask’s injury.

Michael Hutchinson will back up Tim Thomas.

MacDermid clicked with Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton during training camp… Andrew Ference (lower body) will not play... Mike Mottau was a Rangers draft pick… Hutchinson will wear No. 70… This will be the Bruins’ first look at John Scott in a Rangers uniform. Scott is one of the league’s toughest scrappers… Kelly Sutherland and Greg Kimmerly will be the referees. Derek Nansen and Jonny Murray will be the linesmen.
