The Bruins have brought up Jeff Penner and Trent Whitfield from Providence on an emergency basis. Both will be available for tonight's game pending the health of Blake Wheeler, Dennis Wideman, and Johnny Boychuk, who missed the morning skate because of flu-like symptoms.

Penner made his NHL debut on March 9 against Toronto, seeing a total of 9:18 of ice time. Penner played because Zdeno Chara (lower-body injury) was unavailable.

Whitfield has appeared in 14 games for the Bruins this season. Whitfield has one assist.
