Bruins hold on for 2-1 win.

With Ranger goalie out, Rask turns back Prospal slapper with 15 seconds to go. Final Ranger shot.

16:56 -- Del Zotto bomb, from 50 feet out in slot, beats Rask through screen. Rangers cut lead to 2-1.

With 5:00 to go, B's still with 2-0 lead. Ranger bench looks flat.

Lundqvist turns back Ryder's point-blank attept, top of crease, off rush. Rare display of shooting off rush for Bruins at 12:00. Shots: Boston, 29-20.

10:20. Bruins take 2-0 lead. Wideman uses left skate to stop Sobotka pass high in left wing circle, then sails backhand lift to top right corner, beating Lundqvist on glove side.

Very little playmaking from either side. Bruins still with 1-0 lead at 6:24.

1:19 -- Rask moves out to take away angle and smothers Girardi wrister from inner edge of right circle. Excellent stop during 4-on-4 play.

Puck down.

Period is a wrap. Bruins, 1-0. Shots, Boston, 19-15, for two periods.

19:59 - Jokinen penalty, roughing, after a Begin check fells both Prospal and Gaborik at Rangers' offensive blue line.

19:33 -- Satan sent off for interference.

Finally, someone able to show some finesse in offensive end. Ference carries deep down left side and threads needle to set up Satan with easy pot at open right post. Bruins, 1-0 at 16:36.
16:13 -- Paille dragged down by Anisimov on break-in. Penalty shot for Bruins. Paille fails to score with free chance against Lundqvist. Good drama. No payoff.

Wtih 5:00 to go in period, still no score.

Rangers without a shot during 4:00 advantage. Not much sizzle today from either side. Tough sell for NBC-TV.

10:46. Paille drops Avery with check just over Rangers offensive blue line. Blueshirts offsides, too boot.

10:02 -- Rangers getting nothing done on advantage. Still scoreless.

8:30 -- Chara picks up double minor (4:00) for high sticking.

5:20 -- Lucic drops Gilroy with heavy hit along boards, Ranger end. Shades of the old Looch. Still 0-0.
Underway here for second period. Still scoreless.

First period in books. No score. Bruins with 12-9 shot edge for first 20:00.
A second Boston power play chance when Jokinen sent off for hooking in offensive end at 18:07.
Bruins do next to nothing with their first power play. Guilty of at least two offsides while on the man-advantage. Brutal.
15:29 -- Anisimov whistled off for hooking. Bruins will get a 1:35 power play.
13:54 -- Bruins in deeper penatly trouble when Wideman called for hooking Dubinsky. Still no score. 12:43 -- Chara and Jokinen both whistled off for roughing. Chara especially irate at the calls.
12:05 -- Rangers get first chance on power play when Recchi is assessed charging minor.
Stuart back on Boston bench.
With 4:59 gone, Prospal drills Stuart into rearboards, causing Boston defenseman Mark Stuart to hit head hard on top of boards. Ugly hit. Again. Stuart to dressing room, under his own power, looking dazed.
Prospal given two minutes for boarding. Stuart, who staggered to his feet amid an ensuing pushing match, also assessed two minutes roughing for roughing up a ranger helmet.
Underway here at the Vault.
Bruins open with a Sturm-Bergeron-Recchi trio, opposed by Dubinsky-Christensen-Gaborik.
Bruins look like they have a little more pop than Thursday night's total snoozer. Wheeler snaps off wrister with 1:17 gone. Bruins with 4-0 shot lead.
First dustup of the day: Begin and Prust thrown down at Boston's offensive blue line. A few good rights by the offensively-challenged Begin. Each get five minutes to feel shame in the penalty box.
Rask in net today for the Bruins. Henrik ''King'' Lundqvist in for the Blueshirts. Ex-Bostonian Alex '';Twelve Steps'' Auld backing up for the Broadways.
With 4:30 gone, no score. Bruins with 6-1 shot lead.
