Good morning and Happy New Year from Fenway Park, where the Bruins will host the Flyers in the Winter Classic this afternoon. The park remains closed to spectators, with staff putting the last-minute touches on the event. The ice looks good and it's partly sunny here in the Back Bay. Looks like we're good to go.

  • Both teams are coming off shutout wins. The Bruins beat Atlanta, 4-0. Philadelphia blanked the Rangers, 6-0.
  • Milan Lucic (ankle sprain) will not play today. Lucic, however, has been activated off injured reserve.
  • Marc Savard brings a five-game scoring streak (1-7--8) into today's Classic.
  • Expect Tim Thomas to start against Michael Leighton.
  • Kerry Fraser and Chris Rooney will be the referees. Lyle Seitz and Brian Murphy will be the linesmen.
