Ference out for six weeks with groin injury
The Bruins took another hit to their lineup when it was announced just before 5 p.m. that defenseman Andrew Ference, who was injured in the opening minute of the second period of Tuesday's game in Ottawa, will miss six weeks with a groin injury.
Ference was drilled in the corner by Senators' defenseman Chris Phillips. He was examined by doctors earlier today, which led to the unfortunate diagnosis.
Only five members of the Bruins team took the ice at the Ristuccia Arena earlier in the afternoon - Patrice Bergeron, Milan Lucic, Mark Stuart, Tuukka Rask and Adam McQuaid.
Bergeron said his broken right thumb wasn't bothering him too much and he's hopeful that he will be out just for the two weeks doctors predicted. He is skating with a stick but using just his left hand.
