The Bruins have signed goalie Dany Sabourin and defenseman Drew Fata to one-year contracts.

Last season, Sabourin backed up Marc-Andre Fleury in Pittsburgh before being traded to Edmonton for Mathieu Garon. The 28-year-old Sabourin went 6-8-2 with a 2.85 GAA and an .898 save percentage.

Fata played in 75 AHL games last season for Binghamton and San Antonio. Fata put up a 7-9--16 line with 141 penalty minutes in 2008-09.

ANALYSIS: Solid depth signings for the Bruins. Sabourin projects to serve as the veteran netminding presence the Bruins will need in case of injury to Tim Thomas or Tuukka Rask. Kevin Regan and Matt Dalton are not considered ready for NHL action in 2009-10. Fata should be a leader in Providence on the blue line.
