Because of the light schedule this week and next, Claude Julien put the Bruins through one of their most competitive practices of the season today. The practice included rushes, two-on-twos, and four-on-fours to complete the session.

"That's what we need," said Patrice Bergeron. "Claude wanted us to really make sure on putting the emphasis on being sharp and focused. We did that."

Julien said these next two weeks should be helpful to rest his players physically and mentally. But Julien also said it will be a good stretch to right the struggling team.

"Hopefully to fine tune ourselves and get ourselves going in the right direction," Julien said of the two-week stretch. "A little bit of rest, but mostly to get the team going in the right direction."
