The Bruins have reported to work here at the BankAtlantic Center, after busing over from their hotel at the fringe of a giant shopping mall across the street. All in all, it's much like Hartford, where the NHL Whalers played, except lackling in Nutmet State charm. The Whalers' old arena was actually part of a shopping mall.

As we blog, the Panthers are finishing up their day-of-game skate. The Bruins, as is the NHL custom, won't take the ice until 11:30 a.m.

Dennis Wideman, unable to play Thursday night in Tampa because of a pull whatchamacallit (team refused to identify injury), is expected to skate this morning. The fact that he did not skate in yesterday's workout here makes him a 50-50 proposition to suit up tonight.

GM Peter Chiareilli and Cam Neely (VP, Passion) are both in the arena stands right now for the morning skate. Neely remains a favorite target of autograph seekers, even down here in hockey-indifferent southern Florida.
