Marco Sturm hasn't been around the net enough this season. (Justine Hunt/Globe Staff)

Tim Thomas will start for the fourth straight game tonight. Thomas has allowed a total of three goals in his last three starts, with all three coming in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Calgary.

* The notoriously streaky Marco Sturm, who has scored one goal in 11 games, will skate on the third line with David Krejci and Blake Wheeler. When asked what isn't going right with Sturm, Claude Julien had an encapsulating answer: "Everything." Sturm said he needed to be around the play more often and show a dirtier style.

* Julien said Chuck Kobasew (ankle) could be ready to play by Thursday. Kobasew was one of the last players off the ice this morning, along with expected scratches Matt Hunwick and Vladimir Sobotka.

* Shawn Thornton was surprised to learn the Bruins have only recorded two fights this season, just one more than the peace-loving Red Wings and Wild (one fight per team). Thornton was involved in both fights: against Montreal's Georges Laraque and Pittsburgh's Eric Godard. On Tuesday, Milan Lucic asked Kevin Bieksa to fight, but the Vancouver defenseman declined.
