CALGARY -- By all looks of things, the Bruins won't mess with success, and will roll out the same lineup ( including Tim Thomas in net) here tonight that they used en route to back-to-back 1-0 wins in Edmonton and Vancouver.
Chuck Kobasew (fractured ankle), Matt Hunwick (coach's decision), Vladimir Sobotka (coach's decision) are the scratches.
Boston General Manager Peter Chiarelli took in his squad's the morning practice from the Saddledome stands, and sounded as if he could be leaning toward demoting Hunwick and Sobotbka back the Providence Bruins (AHL).
''We want these kids to play,'' said Chiarelli. ''I am not saying what we are going to do, but we want these kids to play.''
Neither Hunwick nor Sobotka dressed for the games in Edmonton or Vancouver. Upon returning home to Boston tomorrow, the varsity plays only three times over to Nov. 12.
Meanwhile, the WannaBs will be in Houston tomorrow night and then San Antonio on Saturday prior to games next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ex-Bruins coach Mike Keenan, now the man behind the Flames bench, said he was overwhelmed by the sea of red in the Saddledome stands when he stepped behind there for his first game.
''Hockey is part of the culture here,'' said Iron Mike. ''You see the same out east with Boston and Montreal. In Montreal, you see 21,000 people clamoring to get in, all the bars are full...it's neat part of it. It's a different environment [in Canada]. Players go to the corner store to pick up a cup of coffee, and everyone wants to know what's going on with the team.''
