NEW YORK — After Game 1 of his team’s series against the Bruins, Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was inordinately hard on himself for allowing Brad Marchand’s overtime goal.

After Game 2, Lundqvist lamented the amount of wheeling around the Rangers allowed the Bruins to do. There were stretches of strong play by New York, but it just wasn’t enough.

On Tuesday night, in Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, Lundqvist did everything in his power to keep his teammates in the game. He may as well have donned a cape with an ‘S’ on his chest, that’s how exceptionally he performed. But once again, it wasn’t enough in a 2-1 loss.

Coach John Tortorella said Lundqvist gave them every opportunity to win it.
