Red Wings find power

Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and three assists and the Red Wings scored five power-play goals in a 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames yesterday in Detroit.

Nicklas Lidstrom, Brendan Shanahan, Mikael Samuelsson, and Robert Lang each had a goal and an assist for the Red Wings. Pavel Datsyuk added a goal and Jason Williams collected two assists.

Roman Hamrlik had a goal and an assist for the Flames and Rhett Warrener and Chuck Kobasew got the team's other tallies.

Detroit dominated the first period with three power-play goals as it outshot Calgary, 22-4.

Lidstrom opened the scoring on a one-timer from the right point at 4:31.

Shanahan made it 2-0 when he tipped in Lidstrom's shot at eight minutes and Samuelsson tipped in Jiri Fischer's blast from the point with 3:32 left.

Blue Jackets 3, Blackhawks 2 -- Bryan Berard had a goal and an assist, and Marc Denis made 30 saves as Columbus nipped host Chicago.

Jody Shelley and Jason Chimera also scored for the Blue Jackets, who won their first game of the season.

Blackhawks rookie Pavel Vorobiev scored twice for the second straight game.

Kings 2, Wild 1 -- Pavol Demitra scored on a 40-foot wrist shot with 1:29 left in overtime and Eric Belanger also scored, leading Los Angeles past visiting Minnesota.
