Just three days after their college careers ended, former Boston College stars Johnny Gaudreau and Bill Arnold made their NHL debuts for the Calgary Flames.

Gaudreau potted his first goal but the Flames fell to the Canucks, 5-1, on Sunday night in Vancouver.

Arnold was minus-1 and registered a hit in 13:35 of ice time while Gaudreau, who won the Hobey Baker Award, was on the ice for 15:11, including 1:31 on the power play.

Boston College lost, 5-4, to eventual champion Union in the Frozen Four semifinals Thursday.

Daniel Sedin scored twice for the Canucks before leaving on a stretcher getting checked from behind by Calgary’s Paul Byron.
