Kerr, Hjorth share the lead

Cristie Kerr grabbed a share of the lead, and Annika Sorenstam stayed in contention at the State Farm Classic in Springfield, Ill., yesterday.

Kerr shot an 8-under-par 64 and was tied with Maria Hjorth at 12 under, one stroke ahead of Il Mi Chung (66) after the second round at The Rail Golf Club.

Lorena Ochoa (70) was five shots off the lead, with Sorenstam (68) at 6 under -- six shots back.

Champions -- D.A. Weibring shot an 8-under 64 and held a two-stroke lead over Tom Purtzer and Jay Haas after the opening round of the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Peeble Beach, Calif.

European -- Martin Erlandsson shot a 4-under 68 for a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the BMW International in Munich.

NEPGA -- Martin Catalioto shot a 5-under 67 (11-under 133) to take a two-shot lead over Marshfield's Geoffrey Sisk (68) after the second round at the Red Tail Open in Devens.
