Being named the seventh executive director in the history of the Massachusetts Golf Association marked a beginning for Jesse Menachem but was also the culmination of an MGA journey he started while a teenager. Menachem spent three years as an intern with the MGA while at Indiana University — becoming a Ouimet Scholar in the process — then joined the staff full time in 2008 after graduating, accepting a position they created for him. Less than a year later, Menachem was promoted to director of rules and competitions, the job he held until Joe Sprague’s departure.
