Friday foursomes lineup for the Ryder Cup

(TV: 8 a.m., ESPN)

8:20 a.m.: Jim Furyk-Brandt Snedeker (US) vs. Graeme McDowell-Rory McIlroy (Europe). COMMENT: Snedeker is red-hot and Furyk is 2-0-2 in his last four foursomes matches, but the duo from Northern Ireland will be tough to take down.

8:35 a.m.: Keegan Bradley-Phil Mickelson (US) vs. Luke Donald-Sergio Garcia (Europe). COMMENT: Donald and Garcia are a perfect 4-0 together in this format, so Bradley’s baptism won’t be easy, even with his pal Mickelson alongside.

8:50 a.m.: Jason Dufner-Zach Johnson (US) vs. Francesco Molinari-Lee Westwood (Europe). COMMENT: Two new teams (Dufner is a rookie), but Westwood is 7-2-4 in foursomes. Johnson (with Hunter Mahan) beat Molinari in a 2010 foursomes match.

9:05 a.m.: Steve Stricker-Tiger Woods (US) vs. Ian Poulter-Justin Rose (Europe). COMMENT: Can the Stricker-Woods pairing (6-2 in Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup) extend its success? Poulter-Rose (2-1 together) should be a formidable foe.

Not playing: Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Webb Simpson, Bubba Watson (US); Nicolas Colsaerts, Peter Hanson, Martin Kaymer, Paul Lawrie (Europe).
