Scouting the Patriots in 2011

This position received an extreme makeover. These guys aren't the typical defensive ends the Patriots have employed in recent years, when their personnel was more suited to a traditional 3-4 defense. Carter has seemed reinvigorated with the change of scenery and returns to a job he feels most comfortable doing. Ellis could be a versatile impact player, having played in many defensive systems with the Jets. Wright has always shown to be effective in any role he's been asked to play. Before a training camp injury, Cunningham showed little improvement from Year 1, though that can always change. Anderson struggles against the run.
