Well, isn't this interesting? The Patriots stole the NFL headlines with the news that they would acquire Haynesworth, the talented but exasperating defensive tackle, from the Washington Redskins. When Haynesworth is motivated, as he was in 2007 and '08 when he was named All-Pro, he is a one-man wrecking crew on defense . . . but since signing a $100-million free-agent deal with the Redskins in 2009, he's rarely seemed motivated. Coach Bill Belichick has had success buying low on presumed headcases such as Randy Moss and Corey Dillon in the past. Haynesworth may be the highest risk of all, but he also could provide the highest reward.
