7. Detroit Lions (10-5)
With the wildcard clinched, the Lions need to position themselves for a successful run in the playoffs. So that means a No. 5 seed, which is attainable with a win against the Green Bay Packers (14-1) this weekend, would allow them to play a weaker New York Giants (8-7) or Dallas Cowboys (8-7) team in the first round of the playoffs. Falling to the sixth seed would mean the Lions would have to face a tough San Francisco 49ers (12-3) or New Orleans Saints (12-3) squad. Basically, they have to beat the best team in the league to have an easier path to the big game. We expect a tough road ahead for the Lions.
