Catching up with old friends
Eric ManginiMangini, who got his start as a ball boy with the Browns when Belichick was the head coach, was the Patriots' defensive coordinator in 2005. In 2006, he departed contentiously to became the head coach for the rival Jets. After the 2008 season he was fired, but landed the head coaching job with the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns were among the worst teams in football in 2009 with a 5-11 record, but did win their last four games to finish on a high note. They went 5-11 again in 2010 and Mangini was fired and replaced by Pat Shurmur. Mangini is currently an analyst with ESPN.
