Perhaps the most incredible aspect of Brandon Deadericks college career is what occurred off the field before his senior season. Five days before the season opener, he was shot in the forearm when an armed assailant tried to rob him. Remarkably, he still played the first game, recording a tackle against Virginia Tech in a 34-24 win. He thrived in the 3-4 defense for the Crimson Tide, known for pushing the pocket and stopping the run. During his junior year against Ole Miss, he recorded five tackles and a sack, which stopped a potential game winning drive with 1:45 remaining. Alabama won 24-20.
