Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman received a decent sum to return to New England, according to a report by Fox Sports 1's Mike Garafolo.
Edelman's contract is for four years at $17 million, with $8 million guaranteed. He has $2 million in incentives, according to Garafolo.
With a base salary that averages out to $4.25 million a year over the life of the contract, his deal compares favorably with that of Danny Amendola, the Patriots' other top wide receiver. Amendola signed a five-year, $28.5 million contract last offseason, which averages out to $5.7 million a year. Amendola's cap hit for 2014 will be $4.575 million.
