FOXBOROUGH -- The Globe's Mike Whitmer reports Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker and guard Logan Mankins were missing from Wednesday's portion of practice open to the media.

The Patriots were dressed in sweats and shells.

Returning to practice were LB Tracy White, who had been dealing with a foot injury, while DE Trevor Scott was back from a hamstring injury.

Cornerback Aqib Talib was wearing No. 31 at practice.
