The Patriots wrapped their final training camp practice of 2011, and the moment they began walking off the field, the rain began.

Before the skies opened up, they held a one-hour session that amounted to a walkthrough: players were in their jerseys with no shells or pads, with shorts or sweatpants. They did, however, wear helmets.

In terms of who was and wasn't taking part, Julian Edelman, Brandon Tate, James Sanders, Shaun Ellis and Albert Haynesworth were all dressed and on the field, though Haynesworth didn't have a helmet.

At the close of the session, strength & conditioning coach Harold Nash led all of the players through a stretching and sprinting session (he timed the sprints), but Haynesworth was the only player in a jersey not to participate. Instead, he stood on a sideline speaking to Robert Kraft and Berj Najarian, Bill Belichick's assistant.

On a positive note, Belichick announced that Ellis has been taken off the PUP list. Haynesworth, he said, remains "day to day. He's still day to day. When he's ready, he'll be out there."

How's that for clarity?

Newest signees James Ihedigbo (wearing No. 43) and Ricky Brown (No. 47) were on the field.

Players not spotted: WR Taylor Price, RB Stevan Ridley, CB Leigh Bodden, DB Bret Lockett, CB Darius Butler, RB Shane Vereen, S Josh Barrett, RB Danny Woodhead, DB Malcolm Williams, RB Eric Kettani, LB Jeff Tarpinian, LB Dane Fletcher, LB Brandon Spikes, OL Marcus Cannon, OL Ryan Wendell, DL Brandon Deaderick, TE Lee Smith, LB Jermaine Cunningham, DL Ron Brace, DL Mike Wright.
