The NFL has confirmed that the Patriots' first playoff game will be played Sunday, Jan. 16, at 4:30 p.m. It will air on CBS.

The Patriots, who have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, will play the lowest-seeded team to advance from wild-card weekend. So it's assured they will not face the third-seeded Colts in their playoff opener.

Indianapolis will host the the sixth-seeded Jets Saturday at 8 p.m. and fourth-seeded Kansas City will host fifth-seeded Baltimore at 1 p.m. Sunday. Both games are on CBS.

And not to get ahead of things, but the AFC Championship Game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
