Some highlights: Wes Welker comes in for the first series and catches a couple of passes. Fred Taylor gets quality carries. Rookie tight ends Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski get a couple of touchdowns.

3d quarter, 13:13, Falcons 3, Patriots 14: Kyle Arrington puts a nasty hit on Antone Smith, jarring the ball loose for an incomplete pass.

3d quarter, 13:43, Falcons 3, Patriots 14: BenJarvus Green-Ellis not having much luck. -1 and +2 on first two carries of the half. Hoyer's pass falls incomplete, ending the drive.

2d quarter, 4:45, Falcons 3, Patriots 14: Rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez managed to keep his feet in bounds as he caught a pass at the back of the end zone for a touchdown. The drive was kept alive when Chevis Jackson was called on a questionable roughing the kicker call, as Gostkowski attempted a 41-yard fg. The flag gave the Patriots a first down on the Falcons 11.
