The NFL awarded its compensatory picks this afternoon, and the Patriots came away with more than any other team.

New England will get an extra pick at the end of the sixth round, and three more at the end of the seventh round. The picks are awarded off a formula on salary, playing time, and postseason honors.

The Patriots lost Heath Evans, Lonie Paxton, Jabar Gaffney, LaMont Jordan and Larry Izzo, and brought in Brandon McGowan in 2009, which accounts for their compensation haul. Here's the rundown of where New England will pick in April (the exact order after the third round hasn't been released yet, but we know Philly's seventh-rounder will come after New England's slotted place):

Round 1 (Pick 22)
Round 2 (Pick 44)
Round 2 (Pick 47)
Round 2 (Pick 53)
Round 4
Round 6
Round 6 (Compensatory)
Round 7
Round 7 (from Philadelphia)
Round 7 (Compensatory)
Round 7 (Compensatory)
Round 7 (Compensatory)
