Gorin nets Patriots a sixth-round pick

There will be two rounds in which the Patriots have two picks in April's NFL draft.

New England, which has its first-round pick (28th overall) and Seattle's (24th) from the Deion Branch deal, picked up another sixth-round selection by trading offensive tackle Brandon Gorin during the exhibition season.

Gorin, who started at right tackle in Super Bowl XXXIX, was dealt to Arizona for a conditional draft choice Aug. 21.

The 6-foot-6-inch, 308-pound tackle from Purdue started 23 of 39 games with the Patriots, including the playoffs, from 2003 to 2005, but he was inactive 14 games this season with the Cardinals and did not play in the season opener against San Francisco and a Week 6 matchup with Chicago.

The Patriots have single selections in the second, third, fourth, and seventh rounds. The team swapped its fifth-round pick to Oakland for wide receiver Doug Gabriel.
