Tom Brady says nose feels fine

Tom Brady answered questions with a bandage on his nose after Sunday’s 34-13 win over the Titans. He didn’t seem to be in a lot of pain then, and it felt the same for Brady Monday morning.

“It’s fine, it’s not bad at all,” Brady said on WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan program. “It probably looks a lot worse than it feels.”

Brady took a hit after the whistle from Titans linebacker Kamerion Wimbley and he received treatment from trainers on the sideline. Brady said he didn’t know if his nose was broken after the game, and reiterated that thought Monday.

As for his status in Week 2 against the Cardinals, Brady left little doubt.

“Logan [Mankins] played on a torn ACL last year, so I think I can play with a scratched nose,” Brady said. “He’s the guy that sets the tone for the whole offense.”

Brady and the Patriots used a balanced offense Sunday to defeat the Titans, rushing the ball 35 times compared to 31 passes. Brady threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns, but Stevan Ridley’s 125 yards on the ground was the most notable performance from New England’s high-powered offense.

“That’s the kind of balance that we need and we’ve been looking for,” Brady said. “When you have guys that can run the ball like we have, you got to give them the opportunity. And when they get the opportunity, it can control the tempo of the game.

“It was good to see those guys really have a huge role in the game. That’s the way it’s got to continue throughout the whole season.”
