Former Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has agreed to a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, a person familiar with the negotiations said Friday night.

Spikes had 86 tackles and an interception last season, the former Florida player’s fourth with the Patriots. He’s rejoining former Patriots linebackers coach Pepper Johnson, the Bills’ new defensive line coach.

No terms of the contract were announced.

Spikes was solid, particularly against the run, for the Patriots since being drafted in 2010. His best season was in 2012, when he finished with 92 tackles, 5 forced fumbles, and a sack. He was slowed by a knee injury for much of last season and has dealt with injuries for most of his career.
