David Krejici, who plays a little hockey hereabouts, just saved the Czechs from one of the  biggest hockey upsets since Al Michaels personally tore down the Berlin Wall with his teeth. He snapped off a shot and beat Edgars Masalskis, the goalie for Latvia who'd made 47 saves  up to that point. That gave the Czechs a 3-2 win, moving them forward in the medal round, after a game in which they'd blown a 2-0 lead, and which they dominated to a preposterous degree for the first two periods. Best game nobody saw.

Krejici's goal came as the third of three consecutive rink-length rushes. Masalskis made a stop. Then Thomas Vokoun stopped one from the point. Then Krejici went the other way and made his play and this tournament is nowhere near as good as it's going to get.
