ORLANDO, Fla. -- Is it just me, or doesn't anyone else have a problem with the sitting head coach of an NBA team -- which Doug Collins most certainly is -- offering national television commentary during a Conference Finals game?
He should be 76erizing somehow, some way, somewhere. What kind of legitimate coaching critique can he possibly offer, now that he is again one of them? If neither TNT execs nor the NBA don't realize how awkward and inappropriate this is, I'd still like to think that Collins, whom I've known and liked for 38 years, would have enough common sense to recuse himself from this assignment. Reggie Miller is there. Put the headset on him and allow him to banter with the One and Only Marv.
Or am I missing something here? Enlighten me.
