Sophomore right wing Vinny Saponari scored with 9:29 seconds remaining in the third period last night, lifting Boston University to a 5-4 victory over Northeastern at Agganis Arena, which clinched a spot in the Hockey East playoffs for the defending NCAA champion Terriers.
