Cam Atkinson, Pat Mullane, and Tommy Cross found the net and John Muse made 28 saves - including 17 in the third period - as red-hot Boston College upended Providence College, 3-1, last night at Schneider Arena for its fifth straight win.

The No. 10 Eagles (10-3-2, 7-3-2 Hockey East) are unbeaten in their last seven games.

Alex Beaudry had 24 stops for the Friars (7-9-1, 2-7-1).

UMass 4, Merrimack 1 - Will Ortiz scored two goals and Paul Dainton made 33 saves to help the No. 15 Minutemen (10-5-0, 6-4-0) snap a three-game losing streak with a Hockey East victory over Merrimack (7-8-0, 4-6-0) in Amherst.

Casey Wellman and T.J. Syner also scored for the Minutemen.

Princeton 3, UMass-Lowell 2 - Eric Meland scored twice and Zane Kalemba made 45 saves - 19 in the third period - as the Tigers (4-8-1) earned a split of their weekend series against the ninth-ranked River Hawks (10-6-1) at Tsongas Arena.

Maine 5, Northeastern 1 - Brian Flynn had a goal and two assists and Scott Darling registered 23 saves to lift the Black Bears (9-7-1, 7-4-1) to a Hockey East victory over the visiting Huskies (6-8-1, 4-7-1)

Vermont 3, St. Lawrence 0 - Brian Roloff scored twice and Rob Madore made 21 saves to lift the host Catamounts (7-6-2) over the Saints (8-7-2).

Quinnipiac 5, AIC 2 - Jean-Marc Beaudoin and Greg Holt each had a goal and an assist and the No. 7 Bobcats (13-3-1) toppled the Yellow Jackets (2-14-1) at Hamden, Conn.

Salem St. 8, Worcester St. 2 - Chris MacInnis contributed two goals, including the winner late in the second period, as the host Vikings (6-2-1, 5-0-1 MASCAC) rallied from a two-goal deficit to roll over the Lancers (3-7-0, 1-5-0).
