PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Sean McGonagill scored 16 points and Andrew McCarthy scored 13 points and grabbed a career high 14 rebounds, rallying Brown to a 59-52 win over Hartford on Saturday.
McGonagill scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half, as the Bears (2-2) rallied from a five-point halftime deficit. He connected on 5 of 11 field goals, including 4 of 6 from behind the arc, while grabbing six rebounds. McCarthy got his 13 points coming on 5-for-12 shooting from the field.
Brown trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half, and had a halftime deficit of 22-17. McGonagill gave Brown its first lead of the second half at 38-35 when he knocked down a 3.
The Bears went on a 9-0 run, taking the lead for good at 43-40 on three free throws by Matt Sullivan with 7:40 remaining.
Hartford's (0-4) Nate Sikma scored 17 points.
