Rodney McGruder scored 20 points and four teammates hit double figures as Kansas State downed Boston University, 80-70, last night at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off in San Juan.

The Wildcats (3-0) got 14 points from Jacob Pullen, 12 from Curtis Kelly, 11 from Jamar Samuels, and 10 from Jordan Henriquez-Roberts.

John Holland had 20 points for the Terriers (0-3), who play Indiana tonight at 6.

Kansas 94, Central Arkansas 44 - Tyrel Reed hit four 3-pointers for 12 points and the No. 1 host Jayhawks (3-0) scored 23 straight points in the first half to overwhelm the Bears (1-2).

Kentucky 102, Sam Houston St. 92 - DeMarcus Cousins had 27 points and 18 rebounds to help the No. 4 Wildcats (3-0) outlast the Bearkats (2-1) in the Cancun Challenge in Lexington, Ky.

Villanova 69, George Mason 68 - Isaiah Armwood hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 17 seconds left, rallying the fifth-ranked Wildcats (3-0) over the Patriots (2-1) in San Juan.

North Carolina 77, Ohio St. 73 - Deon Thompson had 15 points and 12 rebounds and the No. 6 Tar Heels (4-0) held on for a victory over the No. 15 Buckeyes (2-1) in the semifinals of the 2K Sports Classic Coaches vs. Cancer tournament at New York.

Syracuse 95, California 73 - Scoop Jardine scored a career-high 22 points, Wes Johnson had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and the Orange raced past the No. 13 Bears in the other semifinal in New York. Syracuse plays North Carolina for the title tonight.

Dayton 63, Georgia Tech 59 - Paul Williams scored 7 of his 13 points in the final minute, including a go-ahead 3-pointer, in the No. 18 Flyers’ win over the No. 21 Yellow Jackets (1-1) in San Juan.

Minnesota 76, Utah Valley 51 - Freshman Rodney Williams had 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals in his first career start, helping the 24th-ranked Gophers (3-0) pull away from the Wolverines (1-2) in the second half in Minneapolis.

Women’s basketball
Rutgers 59, Boston College 53 - April Sykes had 16 points and the host Scarlet Knights outlasted the Eagles. Stefanie Murphy led BC with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Stanford 99, Pepperdine 50 - Kayla Pedersen had 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists, and the host No. 2 Cardinal (3-0) extended their winning streak at Maples Pavilion to 30 games with a rout of the Waves (2-1).

Ohio St. 92, West Virginia 69 - Samantha Prahalis had 14 points and 12 assists and the No. 3 Buckeyes scored the first 17 points to roll past the Mountaineers (2-1) in the semifinals of the Preseason WNIT in Columbus, Ohio.

Notre Dame 68, Michigan St. 67 - Ashley Barlow scored 18 points and hit a tiebreaking free throw with 10 seconds left to lift the No. 5 Fighting Irish over the No. 21 Spartans in East Lansing, Mich.

Men’s soccer
Boston College 2, Dartmouth 1 - Isaac Taylor’s first score of his collegiate career lifted the host Eagles (13-8-4) to a double-overtime victory over the Big Green (10-7-1) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. BC will play at St. John’s Sunday at 6 p.m. in the second round.

Men’s hockey
UMass 4, Yale 3 - James Marcou scored with 1:01 left in overtime to lift the No. 11 Minutemen (8-2-0) over the No. 9 Bulldogs (2-2-2) in New Haven. Yale led, 3-2, with 10 minutes to play when T.J. Syner scored his second goal of the season to send the game into overtime.
