Brown broke out of its February rut by upsetting fourth-ranked Quinnipiac, 4-2, Saturday in Providence. The Bears, who had been winless in four games this month, scored their most goals since putting up five in their previous victory, Jan. 31 over Colgate.
Garnet Hathaway pocketed a pair of goals for Brown (10-12-3, 7-10-1 ECAC), the second coming just 1:25 after Sam Anas’s power-play strike early in the second period drew the Bobcats (21-6-5, 11-4-3) within 2-1.
Massimo Lamacchia and Nick Lappin also scored for the Bears and Dennis Robertson had two assists. Brown’s Marco De Filippo made 23 saves, while Michael Garteig stopped 27 shots for Quinnipiac.
