Seniors Joe Houk and Derek Arnold each registered a goal and an assist to propel the No. 8 UMass-Lowell men’s hockey team to a 4-2 victory over Merrimack in Hockey East action Friday night at Tsongas Center in Lowell.

Joe Gambardella put UMass-Lowell (17-7-2, 7-4-1) up, 3-2, with 58 seconds left in the second period.

Arnold provided an insurance goal when he beat Rasmus Tirronen with a wrist shot at 6:17 of the third.

Connor Hellebuyck made 23 saves for UMass-Lowell, while Tirronen had 31 shots for Merrimack (7-14-3, 2-8-2).
