UConn to play 7 bowl teams, UMass in 2012
STORRS, Conn.—The University of Connecticut's football schedule includes seven opponents who played in bowls last season.
UConn opens at home against UMass on Thursday, Aug. 30. The schools, which have played 71 times since 1897, haven't met since 1999.
The Huskies' non-conference schedule features a home game against North Carolina State on Sept. 8, and a visit to Maryland the following week to take on former UConn coach Randy Edsall and the Terrapins.
Temple, which rejoins the Big East this season in place of departing West Virginia, visits on Oct. 13.
The Huskies also have home games against Buffalo (Sept. 29), Pittsburgh (Nov. 9) and Cincinnati (Dec. 1).
They play Western Michigan (Sept. 22), Rutgers (Oct. 6), Syracuse (Oct. 19), South Florida (Nov. 3) and Louisville (Nov. 24) on the road.
