With the graduation of Chase Rettig, Boston College will be hurting for experience at quarterback next season, but the Eagles may have found a stopgap solution.

According to reports on SI.com and CBSSports.com, former University of Florida quarterback Tyler Murphy is transferring to BC.

Murphy is from Wethersfield, Conn., and was recruited to Florida by current BC coach Steve Addazio when Addazio was an assistant coach for the Gators. He actually graduated in December but has a year of eligibility left.

According to SI.com, Florida offensive lineman Ian Silberman, another fifth-year student, also will transfer to BC.

Murphy reportedly was also considering the University of Connecticut as a transfer option.
