Games I’d like to see this weekend:
Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth: Spidey is threatening to climb up onto the bubble but a big loss at Saint Louis Wednesday didn’t help. They need to prove they can win on the road. Spidey’s guards are capable of handling Havoc. I sense an upset here.
Ohio State at Wisconsin: Ohio State lost at home to Penn State? OMG. Wait! Wisconsin lost at home to Northwestern? SMH. I guess this will end with someone missing two free throws to clinch the victory for the other team.
Georgia Tech at Wake Forest: Wake lost its first home the other night (to Syracuse). I want to see if they’re capable of bouncing back against a team they should beat.
Boston College at Notre Dame: A real chance for BC to put two victories together. ND is fading fast.
George Washington at Dayton: Dayton seemed to be an NCAA team earlier in the year. A loss at the buzzer to St. Joe Wednesday night really hurt. Have to bounce back for the best college basketball fans in America. GW has seemed almost unaffected by the loss of guard Kethan Savage who’s out with an injury.
Toledo at Ohio: Toledo has only lost twice but Athens, Ohio is a spot where a good team can be upset.
NC State at North Carolina: As I always say, love the rivalry games. This would be a big win for the NC State and I’m going for the upset.
Providence at DePaul: The Friars feels to earth against Marquette in Milwaukee; they’ve got to bounce back in Chicago.
Kentucky at Missouri: The Lexington, Ky. AAU Playaz got hammered in Baton Rouge. Coach Cal says, “It’s a process.’’ He better speed up the process because these guys won’t be around next year. I can’t seem them winning Columbia. I love MIzzou’s guards.
South Carolina at Mississippi: I just have to channel surf into this one to see what the great unhinged one, Marshall Henderson, does for the Rebels.
Northwestern at Minnesota: The Mildcats may have won at Wisconsin but there’s no way they win at the Barn.
Memphis at SMU: Memphis has been in-and-out; better be “in’’ to win in Dallas. An SMU victory would go a long way to helping their NCAA hopes.
Baylor at Oklahoma State: Things go from bad to worse for rapidly fading Baylor. Okie State is coming off a loss at Oklahoma; the Pokes will be fired up. I predict Marcus Smart goes for 40.
Evansville at Wichita State: The Wheat Shockers won’t lose but you’ve got to check in in case an upset happens. It’s not impossible for Evansville which would need a huge game from sharp-shooter D.J. Balentine.
Texas A&M at Florida: Highly touted freshman Chris Walker was declared eligible by the NCAA this week; have to see how good he is. If he’s really, really good I might have to reclassify Florida as a national championship contender.
Villanova at Temple: Temple just ended a horrible eight-game losing streak but even though this is a rivalry game, the Owls will go back to losing ways.
Oklahoma at Iowa State: The Cyclones CANNOT AFFORD to lose this one. Lon Kruger has worked wonders with the Sooners.
Kansas at Texas: The Jayhawks continue to improve rapidly and another good road win would prove that point.
UMass at Saint Joseph’s: UMass has lost two in a row and they’re looking at a third in a row playing a team that almost beat them at the Mullins Center. Chaz needs to come up big.
Duke at Syracuse: All eyes are on this one. Duke looked tremendous winning at Pitt the other night. Syracuse was so-so winning at Wake. Dookies can pull off the upset.
Colorado State at San Diego State: I’ve got to see if San Diego State can win me back. I didn’t like the Aztecs’ narrow win at Utah State.
Iowa at Illinois: Illinois rivals Baylor for a season that fell apart; this is a chance to get back on track. The Illini are a different team at home.
Utah Valley at New Mexico State: What if I told you this was a game between the best two teams in the Western Athletic Conference? It’s true and Utah Valley is two games ahead of the Aggies. Still, no excuse if the Aggies lose this home game.
Penn at Harvard: Crimson should win easy but I’ll monitor.
Tennessee at Alabama: The Crimson Tide are coming off a horrible loss to Auburn; time to reassert themselves.
Virginia at Pitt: UVa has become a Sully’s Court favorite. Big road win here.
Michigan at Indiana: The Wolverines are playing great; Indiana isn’t. You know what that means? Upset.
UCLA at Oregon State: The Bruins will complete the Oregon sweep. Hope Bill Walton is doing the game; he’s incredibly entertaining. We need more stories about Ken Kesey.
Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks: If Broncos defense can play almost as they did against the Patriots, they’ll win. Give the points.
