Tom Williams, the football coach at Yale, has resigned, the New Haven Register reported.

Williams went 16-14 in three seasons, but Yale lost to its biggest rival, Harvard, all three seasons.

Williams was the subject of a Yale investigation of his claims of being a Rhodes Scholarship candidate. He clarified the matter in a statement that said he was encouraged to apply for a Rhodes Scholarship, but did not apply.
