Offensive shines in BC's first scrimmage
After two years of almost no offensive production in its first scrimmage--which was a portent of the future in some instances-- Boston College quarterback Chase Rettig led an offense which showed some flash this evenig.
Rettig, clearly the QB in charge, was very much that at times tonight, completing 12 of 19 passes for 124 yards and two TDs. Back up QBs Mike Marscovetra and Dave Shinskie also threw TD passes.
First confrontation came on the first series when DD Conor O'Neal mixed it up ith OT Nate Richman. O'Neal threw a punch and was sidelined for a few series to calm down and receive some words of advice from BC defensive coordinator Bill McGovern and defensive line coach Jeff Comissiong. Not a good start...Richman was also gone early with a back problem. Marscovetra came into scrimmage with second team after Rettig had a so-so start in his first series 3-5 32 yards, one sack, but one 30 yard completion to Larmond.
First team offense was specacular on second series, scoring a TD with a 12 yard roll out pass from Rettig to Larmond and a spectacular 20 yard cut back TD by RB Andre Williams highlighting the drive...Eagles will hold their next scrimmage on Wednesday evening.
