The defending Division 3 national champion Tufts men's lacrosse team will continue its quest for a repeat Sunday afternoon in Rochester, N.Y., taking on unbeaten RIT in a NCAA semifinal.

The university's commencement ceremony, however, is scheduled for the same afternoon.

Tufts, however, will honor the Jumbos' eight graduating seniors -- Alec Bialosky, David Hessler, Thomas Neuhs, Ryan Molloy, Brian Donovan, Matt Witko
Josh Gudjohnsen, Tom Bragg -- with their own ceremony Friday morning at 9. The celebration, in front of family and friends, will be complete with caps, gowns and remarks from university president Larry Bacow and the board of trustees. More than 3,000 undergrads, graduate and professional students will receive their degrees two days later.

"The Tufts community is excited to recognize these exceptional athletes who have worked so hard and performed so well on the lacrosse field and in the classroom," said Bacow.

"We're proud of everything they have accomplished, and we want to ensure that we have the chance to honor them."

Tufts (17-2) advanced to the semifinals with a 10-9 quartefinal win over Cortland State on Wednesday. The university also held a special ceremony last year for the graduating seniors.
