The first BCS rankings of the season were released on Sunday and we already have a controversy. Oregon and Boise State were No. 1 and No. 2 in both human polls which count in the BCS formula--Harris Interactive Poll and USA Today Coaches poll--but Oklahoma was No.1 in the BCS rankings because the computers loved the Sooners.

That's flat out wrong. If the two human polls have the same No. 1 and 2 teams, the computers are not necessary. We will find out how good Oregon is tonight when it hosts UCLA. The Ducks should win, but don't underestimate the Bruins. Oregon travels to USC next week, which is another "watch out'' game.
What's going on at UConn? The latest move by Huskie coach Randy Edsall was suspending starting quarterback Cody Endres for the remainder of the season for an undisclosed violation of school policy. It is Endres second suspension of the season--he missed the first three games. Edsall also announced a day earlier that starting offensive guard Erik Kuraczea had withdrawn from school. Kuraczea had also had been suspended earlier in the season for a violation of team rules.

Similar disciplinary action has occurred throughout the season at BC, where defensive tackle Dillon Quinn, defensive tackle Conor O'Neal and defensive tackle Kaleb Ramsey have missed games because of "violation of team rules'' incidents.
Looking ahead: Watch out for an LSU upset at Auburn this week and a Minnesota upset of Penn State.
